Remote work, what’s not to love?
If you’re in the market for a job, and you’re considering taking a remote position for the first time, ask yourself the following:
1 Is self-discipline a strength of mine?
2 Do I secretly love supervision?
3 How do I best communicate? (And how does this company facilitate communication?)
These basic questions you ask yourself when taking a remote job are in addition to what you’d normally ask when considering an office job. It’s easy to get starry-eyed at the possibility of remote work (zero commute, sweatpants on the bottom, access to the fridge) only to realize you’re not that into it.
