Agriculture’s Connected Future
The way of the future? High-tech soybeans.
When people think “tech,” they often imagine someone pecking away at a keyboard. They don’t often imagine the agricultural workers that keep our food system pumping.
But tech is everywhere, including the agriculture industry.
A recent report from McKinsey delved into “agriculture’s connected future,” and as someone who works closely with all kinds of companies in the tech space (ahem - The Source and Recruit Company), I found it to be a really interesting read.
Analytics, connected sensors, even artificial intelligence—all of it can be put to work optimizing the yield of various crops. As global demand for food increases, filling out this digital infrastructure is imperative.
It’s a big task, but no one understands the value of hard work like farmers. I’m excited to see what tech solutions will arise in the next ten years of agriculture.
