Glassdoor analyzed employee reviews in 2020 to pinpoint which leaders are polling best among employees — and why. Consistently, traits judged as “good leadership for right now” include things like:

✅  A focus on supporting employees’ health and well-being as a first priority

✅  Open, transparent, frequent communication

✅  Reassurance, guidance and support in a scary time

Some of the specific ways in which leaders have supported employees this year included a quick IT response to remote work, supplying employees with any needed hardware and software technology to be successful working from home.

So far, this year has been an enormous test of leaders’ ability to be elastic and reactive. Winning CEOs are able to adapt to massive shifts in work and the market while constantly supporting their teams.
