What To Do If Your Company Is Being Too Lax About The Coronavirus
Anxiety is high and tempers are flaring. Your spouse is in a panic about #coronavirus. Your boss, on the other hand, thinks it’s “going to blow over.”
Perhaps you’re somewhere in the middle. Regardless, you wish your company was taking things a little more seriously.
So what can you do? Here’s some advice from Business Insider:
Band together with coworkers and push back as a group, letting management know of your concerns in a rational, thoughtful way.
If working from home is the issue, make a list of other companies that have already put work-at-home measures in place. Big names include Facebook, Google, Microsoft, and IBM. But you could also look for companies in your specific area or industry to emulate.
Point out that your population of workers undoubtedly contains those at higher risk, whether it’s obvious or not.
And if you consider yourself high risk, do not be afraid to ask for an exception to any existing policies.
Right now, our first priority — all of us — is the health and safety of all of us. Never be afraid to speak up.
