We’d all love to see our company make one of these annual lists. But more important than seeing your name in lights is understanding what makes a “Best Workplace” truly the best.

Without naming names, here are some of the descriptors I’ve seen attached to the latest winners:

In the 8+ years I’ve been in recruitment, not much has changed in terms of what makes a workplace great.

Employees want to feel appreciated, taken care of and important. They want to feel like what they’re doing matters—both collectively and on an individual level.
